SUNDAY MORNING MINISTRIES

KIDS THREE YEARS THROUGH FIFTH GRADE

10:00am: Kids Worship

This is a time where all school aged children gather in the Clubhouse to participate in worship, activities, and a story unveiling the characteristics of God's own heart.

9:00am: Sunday School

There are four Sunday school classes for children three years through 5th grade that each goes as follows:

  • Lions (3-5 years old)- Triangle Room
Teacher: Lily Mettler                                                                                                                                                                            Our Preschoolers have age-appropriate lessons and crafts as they move through the bible on a basic level. The goal of young lions is to discover their roars, likewise, the lions class is focused on helping these children discover their voices as they interact with others and God's word. They use many hands-on lesson tools and activities as they begin to grow in their understanding of God's word.

  • Gardners (Kindergarten-1st Grade)- GKids 1
    Teacher: Andrea Maguire
The focus in this age group and class is to become more like the true Gardner to the vine. We are learning to plant spiritual seeds that we must help nurture, develop, and grow in ourselves and in others.

  • Fishermen (2nd-3rd Grade)- GKids 2
    Teacher: Natasha Chadbourne
The focus of this age group and class is to become like the faithful followers of Jesus by becoming fishers of men (and women). We must learn how to go out looking for those who need to hear about Jesus and help bring them to him.

  • Shepherds (4th-5th Grade)- Clubhouse
    Teacher: Betty Brinegar
The focus of this age group and class is to become like the good shepherd. We want to learn how to go out to guide, care for, and protect the Lord's flock.

BIRTH THROUGH TWO YEARS

9:00 & 10:00am: Nursery Lambs (0-2 years old)

Our youngest ones enjoy a secure soothing environment with age-appropriate toys, baby equipment, and play. In this room, children are nurtured by faithful followers in Christ with the goal of each and every child "never knowing a day that they don't know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior".

Hannah Bell

Children's Pastor

Hannah Bell was born and raised in Mebane, North Carolina. She moved to Nashville in 2016 to attend Trevecca Nazarene University, where she graduated in 2020 with a bachelor's degree in Worship and Church Ministry. Hannah has been a Nazarene her whole life, and is a district licensed minister in the Church of the Nazarene. She has a heart for children and the local church. And the kids will tell you, Pastor Hannah knows how to make the whole place shimmer, with or without glitter!

She and her husband, Stephen Bell, live in Columbia with their Goldendoodles, Jessie and Winnie. Hannah loves spending time with her family and friends, playing board games, and trying new foods!

Lily Mettler

Lily is a student at Trevecca, and am originally from Berne, IN. She is a religion major with a focus in children's ministry. She loves having fun and helping kids learn more about Jesus! Lily also enjoys reading, hanging out with friends, and listening to music.

"I'm so excited for this fun new opportunity!"

Bryn Rice

Hand-in-Hand Special Needs Ministry Director

Bryn Rice is a proud adoptive parent, music teacher-turned-special education teacher, and former missionary. Hailing from the valleys of east TN, Bryn has tried to follow God's leading to Cookeville, TN (undergraduate at Tennessee Tech University in music education, 2010), to Bandung, Indonesia (PreK-12 music teacher, 2010-2016), and now to middle Tennessee (previously a music teacher for Williamson County Schools and currently an elementary special education teacher).

A lifelong student himself, Bryn's extensive studies in the area of developmental trauma led him to pursue a Master's degree in special education (Carson Newman University, 2022) and expand his horizons to serve children with a wide range of disabilities. Bryn is particularly passionate about getting to the heart of children's behaviors and working through the supports needed to help children feel safe, become more connected, and learn to self-regulate. Bryn is also certified in CPI (non-violent crisis prevention and intervention).

Because of his personal experiences parenting children with disabilities, Bryn is committed to serving families in their own disabilities journey and seeing Jesus shine his grace through the challenges inherent in helping each individual child realize their God-given potential and gifts.

When not in the thick of the beautiful chaos that comes from working with children with disabilities and children from hard places, Bryn enjoys spending time with his two sons (both age 13, not twins) and listening to others' life stories and sharing how God has worked in his life. He also enjoys reading, woodworking, practicing calligraphy, and studying languages.
